To take stock of situation emerged after floods, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Friday held a meeting chaired by Syed Ali Geelani. According to spokesman during the meeting participants thoroughly discussed the situations after the destructive floods and took appraisal of the relief distribution process of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat.

In his address, Geelani  said that Tehreek-e-Hurriyat is a cadre based organization and the way in which its officials and activists tried their best to help the needy people during and after the floods was witnessed by the general public itself and they have appreciated the work. “The Islamic and pro-freedom youths have generated a new hope of life among the people of Kashmir and it is our real property and we should be proud on them,” said Geelani.

He further said “our party favours democratic system and we support the freedom of expression. If we have to register the protest against anybodies excesses or injustice, we even then don’t forget our principles.” He however said that despite all these difficulties and restrictions, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat will never compromise over its stand and it will continue its struggle in any way and at any cost for the future of Kashmiri nation.

Meanwhile Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that “many people who are desirous to donate for the flood affected victims insisted us to open
a bank account so that relief process will get easier.” Spokesman further adds that “desirous people can deposit relief amount in SB 1723 titled Sayed Ali Shah Geelani, branch Hyderpora or can personally come to office and deposit there relief material there.”
