SRINAGAR
As water has started to recede from various parts of city, government Monday ordered that the Srinagar city shall be divided into three zones and the senior officers shall be put in-charge of each zone to perform the task(s) as may be assigned to them by the Housing and Urban Development Department.
This according to the spokesman was done after considering the enormity of the clean up and sanitation operations in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation areas as there is possible threat of epidemic.
The officers include Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad, IAS, Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, Dr. G. N. Qasba, Commissioner, SMC and Tufail Mattoo, Managing Director, J&K Cable Car Corporation. The spokesman further said that the Housing and Urban Development Department shall work out the details in this regard immediately.
