Srinagar

The upper reaches, including the world-famous ski resort of Gulmarg, received fresh snowfall, while rains lashed summer capital, Srinagar, and other plains in Kashmir valley.

A Met spokesperson said that light to moderate rain and snow would occur at many places during the next 24 hours in the state under the influence of a Western Disturbance (WD) which is active in the region.

The intermittent rains continued in Kashmir since Monday bringing down the temperature in the Valley. The hills across Kashmir had fresh snowfall.

A BRO official said that if weather allows the snow clearance process will soon touch the zero point at KM-108 of Srinagar-Leh highway to facilitate the re-opening of the highway.

The upper reaches of North Kashmir including Razdhan Pass, Sadna Top and Furkiyan Top also witnessed fresh snowfall.
