SRINAGAR: Traffic department authorities on Monday said that in wake of fair weather and road condition, only LMVs shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu and HMVs (stranded Load carriers) shall be allowed from Udhampur towards Srinagar on Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
According to the advisory of the traffic department, LMVs will have to cross Zig Qazigund between 07:00 am to 12:00 pm.
It said no vehicle shall be allowed from Zig (Qazigund) after the cut off timing, adding that security forces are advised/requested to undertake the journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW-44 only after confirming the status of road from SSP Traffic NHW J. S. Johar.
“Mughal road is open for downward traffic. Only Vehicles (load carriers) loaded with fresh fruits shall be allowed from Herpora (Shopian) from 1100 hrs to 1600 hours towards Poonch,” it said.
“No vehicle shall be allowed after cut of timings. Moreover, no passenger vehicle or pedestrian shall be allowed on Mughal Roa,” it added.
“Subject to fair weather and good road condition only essential commodity vehicles shall be allowed to ply on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road,” said the advisory.
People have been advised to undertake the journey on the highway only after confirming the status of the road from phone numbers Jammu (0191-2459048, 9419147732), Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396,18001807091), Ramban (9419993745) and Udhampur(8491928625).
