Srinagar
Intermittent snowfall continued for the second successive day on Saturday in upper reaches, including world famous ski resort of Gulmarg, while heavy rain lashed plains in Kashmir, resulting in considerable drop in the day temperature.
The mercury during the night remained above normal at majority of the places in the Valley, barring Gulmarg, due to overcast conditions while day became chilly due to drop in the maximum temperature following wet weather.
A Met department spokesperson said that light rain and snow would occur at few places during the next 48 hours in the state, which could resulting in further dip in the maximum temperature.
Even though there was marginal improvement in the night temperature at Leh in Ladakh, it was still the coldest place in the region at minus 6.
