Kashmir Leaders Condole Demise of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s Father-in-Law

   

SRINAGAR: Political leaders have expressed condolences on the demise of Dr Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi, father-in-law of Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq, who passed away late last night after a prolonged illness.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, in a post on X, said, “Inna Lillahi wa innailayhi raji’un. Sorry to hear about the demise of Dr Sibtain Masoodi Sb, father-in-law of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. May Allah grant the highest place in Jannat to Dr Masoodi. My condolences to the Mirwaiz and his loved ones.”

Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also extended her condolences: “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of Mirwaiz sahab’s father-in-law, Dr Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi Sahab. Condolences to the bereaved family at this difficult hour.”

National Conference leader Ali Mohammad Sagar and Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari, also expressed their sympathies.

Ali Sagar, in his condolence message, said, “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. I extend my heartfelt condolences to @MirwaizKashmir Moulvi Muhammad Farooq sahab over the tragic passing of his father-in-law and brother of my valued colleague in JKNC Justice @masoodi_hasnain. Prayers for magfirah of late Sibtain Masoodi Sahib. Allah grant Jannat Ul Firdous to the departed. Ameen.”

Altaf Bukhari wrote, “My heartfelt condolences to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sahib on the passing of his father-in-law, Dr Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi, who departed for his heavenly abode late last night. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Rajioon. May Almighty Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and give patience to the bereaved family to bear this profound loss.”

“ We extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Dr. Ghulam Sibtain Masoodi sb, father-in-law of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq sb & brother of Justice (R) Hasnain Masoodi sb. May Allah grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous & give strength to the bereaved family in this difficult time,” Youth PDP posted on X.

According to Mirwaiz Manzil, the Nimaz-e-Janaza of Dr Masoodi will be offered at Jama Masjid Srinagar after Zuhr prayers, and he will be buried at his ancestral graveyard in Khrew, Pampore.
