Srinagar’s Lal Chowk, Polo View, Residency Road, and other prominent markets are packed with customers eager to buy clothing, shoes, and sweets. Stalls selling henna, bangles, and festive decorations have also been set up, adding to the festive spirit.

“Eid is incomplete without shopping and gifts for children,” said Amina, a shopper at Lal Chowk. “While we have been shopping for the past few days, the biggest rush is usually seen at the last minute.”

Similarly, bakery shops are witnessing brisk business, with people purchasing traditional sweets and delicacies. “Eid is synonymous with traditional sweets. The demand for bakery goods has significantly increased,” said Bashir Ahmad, a bakery shop owner in Srinagar.

Meanwhile, the influx of shoppers has led to traffic congestion in commercial areas. Authorities have deployed additional personnel to regulate the traffic flow. “We urge people to follow traffic rules to ensure smooth movement during this festive season,” said a traffic department official. (KNO)
