SRINAGAR: Prominent Kashmir poet, who was a popular social reformer, Mushtaq Kashmiri is no more. He passed away at his residence on July 8, 2022. He was 86 years old. He was laid to rest Friday noon.
A conservative and an orthodox, Kashmiri’s poetic collection, Shour-e-Mehshar has one of the most popular poetic collections that had multiple editions. He would do poetry in Urdu too but Kashmiri was his primary interest. His other published poetic collections included Sour-e-Israfeel, and Salsabeel.
Kashmiri was earlier working for the All India Radio, a career he quit owing to his ideological issues.
