Kashmir: Police Seize 13 Vehicles in Illegal Mineral Transport Crackdown

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir police have seized 13 vehicles involved in the illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in Awantipora and Baramulla districts of Kashmir valley.

In Awantipora, a police party from Police Station Awantipora confiscated three vehicles engaged in unlawful mineral extraction and transport. A case has been registered under FIR No. 239/2025, and further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, in Baramulla, police from PS Tangmarg and PS Kunzar impounded ten tippers found operating without valid documents and in violation of traffic regulations. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the violators under relevant provisions of the law.

Authorities have advised the public, particularly vehicle operators, to ensure that all necessary documents are valid and up to date, and to cooperate with police during routine checks.
