SRINAGAR: As Mamata Banerjee lead All India Trinamool Congress party registers a landslide victory for the third consecutive term in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, reaction poured in from major mainstream politicians of Jammu & Kashmir.

Former Chief Minister and Vice President of the National Conference, Omar Abdullah while congratulating Mamata wrote on twitter,

Heartiest congratulations to @MamataOfficial didi & everyone at @AITCofficial for the remarkable victory in West Bengal. The BJP & a throughly partisan Election Commission threw everything including the kitchen sink at you & you prevailed. All the best for the next 5 years.”

President of the Peoples Democratic Party and former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti in a tweet wrote,

“Congratulations to @MamataOfficial @AITCofficial @derekobrienmp on their splendid victory today. Kudos to the people of West Bengal for rejecting disruptive & divisive forces.”

Senior congress leader and former union minister, Saifuddin Soz congratulated Mamata Banaerjee on her victory, and in a statement issued here said, “West Bengal Assembly Election results have shown to the world that Democracy and Secularism have to be recognized as core values of India’s social and political life. The win for Mamata Banerji is surely a crushing defeat to communal forces. Mamata  Banerji and her party had shown to the world that India will stay secular for all times to come.

It is very unfortunate that the Election Commission of India has shown itself in extremely poor light.”

The statement concluded by a slogan, “Mamta Banerji Zina Bad.”

JKPCC Chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir while reacting on the outcome of election results today in a statement issued here has stated that “The BJP especially the Prime Minister and the Home Minister had made West Bengal the battlefield to wrest the state at all costs by using all energy, attention and tactics at their command  and ignoring the grave National health emergency knocking at the doors, but the people of West Bengal rejected their lust for power and politics of polarization, division and communalism.

The Prime Minister Narendera Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah put the lives of 130 crore Indians to risk by ignoring a grave National  health emergency, for the sake of winning West Bengal  State elections; but the wise Bengalis rejected the politics of opportunism and communalism”

He further added that “The entire nation of 130 crores people is today paying the price of the failures of the Modi Government to take timely steps to upgrade the facilities and resources to deal with the Covid-02, which has gripped the entire country in a worst form with a lack of required facilities and mismanagement at various fronts.”  He further added that “the strategy of West Bengal voters and their commitment to keep the communal and divisive forces at bay against all sorts of onslaughts, would be a lesson for voters elsewhere in different parts of the country.”

Mir also congratulated the people of Tamil Nadu and Kerala for “rejecting the BJP and its political ambitions riding on its ideological and other tactics of power.”
