Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday during his speech on Independence Day said that every problem in Jammu and Kashmir can be solved by embracing its people.

According to a report published by Hindustan Times, PM Modi in a speech said that three should be an equal and balanced development in all three regions which include Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. “The expectations of the people should be fulfilled, infrastructure should be strengthened and we should walk with everyone. We don’t want to move in the path of guns and abuse,” Hindustan Times quoted PM Modi as saying.

“Atalji called for ‘insaniyat’ (humanity), ‘Kashmiriat’ (Kashmiri culture) and ‘jamhooriyat’ (democracy). I also said that the issues in Kashmir can be resolved by embracing the people of Kashmir,” the report mentioned.

Modi said Jammu and Kashmir, which is under Governor’s Rule, will hold panchayat and local body elections, however, he did not reveal the exact date, Hindustan Times reported.
