Various Kashmir based organizations Monday sharply reacted to hanging of leaders of Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader Sallahuddin Quader Chowdhury and Jama’at-e-Islami Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid were executed at Dhaka Central Jail in the nation’s capital.

Ahsan Amin Mohammad Mujahid and Sallahuddin Quader Chowdhury were executed by Sheikh Hasina led Bangladesh government a few days ago.

They were tried under much criticised “war crimes tribunal” for supporting Pakistan in 1971 when Dhaka fell apart from the then West Pakistan.

Octogenarian Syed Ali Geelani led Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH), Jammu and Kashmir offered Gayibana Nimaz-e-Jinaza (funeral prayers in absentia) in favour of Jama’at-e-Islami Bangladesh leaders.

The duo Islamists were top Opposition leaders in Bangladesh.

TeH leaders offered at Jinaza at Masjid Hamza, Amira Kadal, and were led by Mudasir Nadwi.

Other leaders present on the occasion include Rameez Raja, Mehrajuddin Rabbani, Khalid Islam, Abdul Ahad Bhat, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder and others.

The leaders also condemned the execution of leaders saying the Sheikh Hasina-led government in Bangladesh is hanging every pro-Islamist Opposition leader which is very “brutal and shameful”.

Meanwhile, parent party of Geelani and indigenous Islamist party in Jammu and Kashmir, Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI), termed the executions as “political vendetta”.

Terming the execution of two Bangladeshi Islamist Leaders as a defeat on moral and political front for Sheikh Hasina government, Jama’at today strongly denounced the execution of the Ali Ahsan Mujahid and Salah-ud-din Quader Chowdhury.

Jama’at Spokesperson said the government of Bangladesh is backed by anti-Islamic forces from the entire sub-continent in following their dictation and it seems that she will not let the way for her opponents and Islamists in Bangladesh. “Sheikh Hasina under the costume of International War Crimes Tribunal left no stone unturned to cage and execute these voices, Jama’at said in a statement.

“The atrocities on Jama’at in Bangladesh proved that Sheikh Hasina is willing to admit her name with the most notorious tyrants like Changez, Halakoo and Hitler,” the Jama’at spokesperson added.

“Jama’at in Bangladesh is sound from root level and trying to propagate their voice through democratic means, but Sheikh Hasina on the directions of anti-Islamic forces is muzzling their voice and by a mock exercise of Judicial process executing the main figures of Jama’at and opposition to please her masters,” he said.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir terms this execution as “blatant injustice” and urges Muslim forums and religious organizations to impress Bangladeshi government to get such shameful acts stopped at once.

Senior Hurriyat (g) leader, and chairperson Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmad Shah said that “Bangladesh is an Indian colony run by New Delhi”.

He strongly condemned the hanging of the pro-Islamist and Opposition leaders of Bangladesh.

“The sentence to Ahsan Muhammad Mujahid and Sallahuddin Quader was ordered at the behest of tyrant ruling government of Bangladesh,” he said.

“The hanging of pro-Islamist and Jama’at-e-Islami leaders is a ‘nasty act’ by the Sheikh Hasina-led government,” Shah said.

Shah added, “in real terms, the Bangladesh’s political affairs are run by Indian communal forces. That is why they want to clear the country of all pro-Islamist leaders. Sheikh Hasina is doing all this at the behest of India and to please the New Delhi.”

Terming Sheikh Hasina as “a cruel and tyrant ruler”, Shah accused her of using judiciary “to kill her political opponents and pro-Islamist leaders”.

Paying tributes to slain JeI leaders, Shah prayed in favour of them.
