SRINAGAR: A 75-year old patient from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district died at SKIMS Soura on Saturday, his sample test positive for COVID19 posthumously.

Dr Ghulam Hassan Yatoo, in-charge COVID19 response at SKIMS Soura, said the patient from Kanthbagh Baramulla died on Saturday afternoon and the body of the deceased had been kept in the mortuary of the hospital till the report of the sample was available.

This is the third Covid death since morning in Kashmir as earlier in the day, a retired doctor from Parrypora, Srinagar died at JVC Bemina. A few hours after him, a 60-year-old resident from Shopian district of south Kashmir breathed his last at SMHS hospital Srinagar.

With his death, the number of casualties due to the novel Coronavirus has reached 56 in J&K. Earlier, 55 patients have died due to COVID-19 including 49 from Kashmir and six from Jammu.
