A complete shutdown is being observed across Kashmir on the second consecutive day, today following the civilian killings in Shopian and Srinagar districts of Kashmir.

All the shops and other business establishments, government and private offices remained closed all over the valley, while traffic is off the roads.

The shutdown call was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Mohammad Umar Farooq against the killing of five civilians after forces opened fire into protesters in Shopian yesterday who were demonstrating against the death of five militants, including to Hizb commander Saddam Padder, in Badigam village of the south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
