SRINAGAR: The Directorate of Social Welfare Kashmir has ordered transfers and postings of several officials, including the placement of Social Workers and other employees as In-Charge Tehsil Social Welfare Officers (I/C TSWOs), with immediate effect.
The orders were issued by Director Social Welfare Kashmir M. Akbar Wani, IAS, through Order No. 134 DSWK of 2026 dated October 7, 2026. The Directorate said the arrangement was made in the interest of administration and for the smooth functioning of the department.
Under the order, Shahida Majeed, Social Worker, District Social Welfare Office Ganderbal, has been transferred and posted as I/C Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Kangan, against an available vacancy. Ayash Arif, Social Worker at the District Social Welfare Office Anantnag, has been posted as I/C TSWO Baramulla against an available vacancy.
Rayees Ahmad Khan, Social Worker, District Social Welfare Office Budgam, has been posted as I/C TSWO Khag against an available vacancy, while Aashiya Salam, Social Worker, District Social Welfare Office Bandipora, has been posted as I/C TSWO Sumbal, replacing Fayaz Ahmad Lone.
Rouf Ahmad Shah, Social Worker at the District Social Welfare Office Anantnag, has been posted as I/C TSWO Tangmarg in place of Zubair Majeed. Vishal Dogra, Social Worker, District Social Welfare Office Baramulla, has been posted as I/C TSWO Rafiabad against an available vacancy.
Sumaira Gulzar, Social Worker, District Social Welfare Office Baramulla, has been posted as I/C TSWO Sopore in place of Waseem Ahmad. Ishfaq Bashir Bhat, Social Worker, District Social Welfare Office Pulwama, has been posted as I/C TSWO Shangus against an available vacancy.
Mumtaza Bano, Social Worker, District Social Welfare Office Bandipora, has been posted as I/C TSWO Pattan, while Ab. Shameem Bhat, Social Worker, District Social Welfare Office Kupwara, has been posted as I/C TSWO Handwara. Both postings are against available vacancies.
Hasiba Jan, Superintendent, District Social Welfare Office Srinagar, has been transferred and posted as I/C TSWO Ganderbal in place of Muzaffar Gull.
Roshan Lal, Superintendent, District Social Welfare Office Shopian, who is presently attached with the Directorate of Social Welfare Kashmir, has been transferred and posted as I/C TSWO Uri against an available vacancy. However, he will continue to remain attached with the Directorate until further orders.
Salfia Jan, Probationary Officer, District Social Welfare Office Srinagar, has been transferred and posted as I/C TSWO Khansahib against an available vacancy.
The order also provides for the movement of existing Tehsil Social Welfare Officers. Fayaz Ahmad Lone, TSWO Sumbal, has been transferred and posted at the Tehsil Social Welfare Office Bandipora against an available vacancy.
Muzaffar Gull, TSWO Ganderbal, has been transferred and posted at the Tehsil Social Welfare Office Pulwama in place of Tariq Ahmad Magray.
The Directorate further ordered that Tariq Ahmad Magray, TSWO Pulwama; Zubair Majeed, TSWO Tangmarg; Nargis Farheena Bashir, Superintendent LVC; and Waseem Ahmad, TSWO Sopore, would remain attached with the Directorate of Social Welfare Kashmir until further orders.
The Directorate clarified that the entire arrangement was purely temporary and on a stop-gap basis. It also stated that officials placed as I/C Tehsil Social Welfare Officers would not acquire any preferential or legal right to regular promotion against the posts of Tehsil Social Welfare Officer.
