Dozens of Kashmiri students who are studying in Vyas College of Engineering and Technology were Thursday beaten by the local students in Rajasthan during a cultural programme organized by the college authorities.

The students told KNS over phone that the local students as well as the some goons residing nearer to the college entered in the college premises and started beating them unnecessarily.

“In the late evening on Thursday when cultural programme was going on in the college premises, some local students as well as the residence wearing masks entered in the college premises and started beating us due to which three Kashmiri students received injuries,” students claimed.

The Kashmiri students said that soon after the incident they approached to the college management but unfortunately “no action was taken” against the persons who thrashed them.

Nonetheless, the students who were beaten by some local students well as the residents said that police officials also misbehaved with them. “At 12:30 am in the mid-night, police entered the campus and without knowing the facts they started abusing us,” Kashmiri students said.

The students said that they are facing tremendous hardships in the college campus from past couple of days.

Manager of Vyas College of Engineering and Technology, Seema said that no such incident occurred in the college premises. “These are rumours as no such incident took place in the college premises,” she said.
