Train services in Kashmir have been resumed on Wednesday after three days of continue suspension for security reasons, a senior railway official said.

On Sunday, train service was suspended as ‘preventive measure’ in  Kashmir when there was a JRL call against the killing of six civilians and four militants and DR Mohammad Rafi Baht were killed by government forces in Shopian on May 06.

This was the fourth time train service was suspended in the valley for security reasons this month.

A senior railway official told Kashmir Life that train service was resumed this morning in the valley.

A fresh advisory was received from police to resume the train service after remaining suspended for three days across Kashmir for security reasons. Therefore, he said, trains will run as per schedule on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region today.

Similarly, trains will also chug on Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir, he added.

Last year train service remained suspended for 50 times partially or fully in the valley.
