Srinagar

To protest the proposed shifting of Batamaloo General Bus Stand to Parimpora on city outskirts, Kashmir Transporters Welfare Association held a “Chakka Jam” across Kashmir on Thursday.

Transporters and various trade associations have been opposing the shifting of general bus stand which they claim will cause them huge losses.

Bus owners left buses of Western Bus Service at the Batamaloo GBS as a mark of protest. They said that the bus stand at Parimpora is not worth a bus stand but we have been told to shift soon which is quite an illogical move.

They said that the shifting of Batamaloo GBS to Parimpora will cause inconvenience to commuters travelling from northern parts of Kashmir to the summer capital.
