The earthquake which shook Kashmir Valley for 24 seconds Monday afternoon was recorded 6.2 on Richter Scale.

The epicentre of the quake (which stuck Valley at 3.35pm) was Afghan-Tajikistan border, with the depth of 200 kilometer.

The last major earthquake recorded in valley was in October 2005 measuring 7.6 on Richter Scale and creating widespread panic and damage.

The tremors were also felt in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtukhwa, Islamabad and adjoined areas.
