SRINAGAR: Several areas across the Kashmir Valley, including the summer capital Srinagar, experienced the hottest day of the season on Sunday.

Data indicates that Srinagar reached the highest temperature of the season at 31.8 degrees Celsius.

The data further reveals that Pahalgam, Qazigund, Kupwara, and Gulmarg also recorded their highest temperatures of the season today.

In Kupwara, the mercury settled at 31.0 degrees Celsius, while in Qazigund, it settled at 31.6 degrees Celsius.

According to the data, Pahalgam and Gulmarg, the famous tourist destinations, registered temperatures of 26.6 degrees Celsius and 21.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Furthermore, the weather forecast predicts hot and humid conditions for the next 6 days in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Director of the Meteorological Department, Sonum Lotus, informed KNO that the weather is expected to be mainly clear in J&K.

Between June 19-23, the weather will likely remain predominantly dry, with a possibility of brief showers or thunderstorms towards the late afternoon or evening, he added.

During June 24-26, there is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at scattered to fairly widespread places, with a 60% likelihood. However, there is no forecast of any significant rainfall this week. (KNO)
