A Delhi Public School (Budgam) student, Bushra Nabi, 15, has become the one among the only two students across India selected on a full scholarship for grades 11th & 12th in Thailand.

Other than Bushra, another student, Hemlata from Dehradun, UP has been selected for Kurt Hahn scholarship provided by the Phuket International Academy, Thailand.

“Bushra has been selected from a pool of competitive applicants and after going through rigorous selection process, she has made it to the list of selected candidates,” her teachers at DPS Budgam said.

Bushra has already spent one complete academic year in the United States of America where she was sent as an exchange student under KL-YES Scholarship in the year 2013, her school administration informed.

“She has a deep interest in international relations and wants to make a career in administration,” the school administration said.

The scholarship is given by the Trust seeks to foster Anglo-German understanding, and to honour the memory of Kurt Hahn Kurt—a German educator whose philosophies are considered internationally influential. He founded the United World Colleges, an alliance of international schools.

The scholarship was founded in 1986 by Peter Carpenter, then Director of Studies in Education at Churchill College. The fund has been built up through the generosity of donors in the United Kingdom, as well as in Germany, and includes gifts from numerous former holders of Kurt Hahn awards.
