SRINAGAR: Owais Hussain Bhat, 25, who hails from Trehgam village of Kupwara district has played a cameo as an actor in the Amazon web series Tandav released on Friday.
This is Bhat’s first break as a professional actor after a hard work of years.
Speaking exclusively with Kashmir Life, Bhat said he is elated to be part of the series.
“This is a big moment for me and I have waited for it for years,” Bhat said. “It was a great experience for me to work with professional actors and crew under director Abbas Ali Zafar.”
The series stars big names like Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Dino Morea, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Sunil Grover.
Bhat plays the role of a journalist in the series which was shot in December 2019. Bhat, in reality, has a degree in journalism.
Before Bhat’s moment arrived, he pursued a two-year training at Sriram Centre Mandi house (SRC), a prominent theatre which has produced established names including Bollywood actor Raj Kumar Rao and Jatin Sarna.
Bhat said he looks forward to getting bigger roles.
Tandav was roiled by controversy after rightwing groups protested that the series shows Hindu deities in a bad light.
