Kashmiris want detention of political leaders to continue: Madhav

National General Secretary Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Ram Madhav on Sunday claimed that the people of Jammu and Kashmir want the detention of the political leaders in Kashmir to continue as they have, according to him plundered their rights with impunity for the past seven decades.

Addressing a youth convention here in Tagore Hall, Madhav who has been a BJP’s points man on Kashmir affairs said the tall claims of the Kashmir centric political groups that scrapping of Article370 will result in bloodbath in valley have proven flat and that people are happy that the government has cracked whip against these politicians.

He added that people especially youth are happy with the decision of the government to detain the political leaders and that they want their detentions to continue. “These so called leaders have plundered the people of their resources for the past 70 years and now is the time when people will seek answers from them and make them accountable to all the wrong doings they have so far made,” said Madhav.

He further claimed that Kashmir is absolutely normal and people are resuming their day today activities. He added that such is the peoples’ rush that it took him more than hour to reach to Srinagar’s Tagore hall from Batamaloo area.

Madhav revealed further that the Prime Minister is all set to announce a mega development package for Jammu and Kashmir and that youth will get benefited through plethora of schemes. He added that there will be a major positive change prevalent on the ground after October 31, this year and Jammu and Kashmir is going to scan new horizons of development in times to come.

Madhav was accompanied by BJP’s senior youth leader Aijaz Ahmad, Media incharge Manzoor Bhat and several others. (KNS)
