A youth was killed when forces opened fire in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Correspondent reports coming from South Kashmir said that police fired upon civilians after an explosive material they were carrying exploded. A cop, who remains unidentified yet, was killed in the explosion.
However, police sources said that it was grenade attack on police station Yaripora in which, besides death of a cop, six more police men were injured.
Medical Superintendent Sub-District Hospital told Kashmir Life that one injured youth who was admitted in the hospital immediately after the firing by the forces died.
He identified the slain youth as an 18 year old Sayar Ahmad Kumar of Chitragam village of Shopian district. Yaripora is village which borders Shopian and Kulgam districts.
Meanwhile, police sources said that the deceased cop was identified as Mudasir Ahmad who was working as Head Constable. His dead body was kept at DPL Kulgam.
Reports reaching from Tengpora Srinagar said that a youth who was thrashed by CRPF a few days back has succumbed to9day at SKIMS. He has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Parray.
Protests erupted in Tengpora area when a youthw as killed by forces a few days back. “Hilal was beaten by CRPF then,” locals said, “however, out of police fear, his family admitted him in SKIMS as a victim of a rood-side accident.”
Meanwhile, reports coming from SMHS Srinagar said that two injured youths from Drugmulla Kupwara were admitted in the hospital this evening.
A reporter from Drugmulla said that army thrashed youth who were rescuing bullet injured youths.
“Dr Javed Ahmad, Ehtisham Bashir and a few others who were accompanying three bullet hit youths in an Eeco car were stopped by Army personnel posted at 168 Medical Hospital in Drugmulla,” a reporter said, “the attendants were thrashed only to be rescued by police.”
