In view of the prevailing situation in Kashmir region, the J&K Government has extended the summer vacations for school going children.

This was revealed in an online newspaper report to which government sources disclosed the new development.

The development comes I n wake of the civilian killings by government forces since Saturday, July 09, 2016.

The government schools, up to 10+2 levels, were closed earlier closed for summer vacations since July 1 to July 07. However, given the escalation in civil uprising and severe clampdown by government by imposing curfew, the government has decided to extend the vacations up to July 24.

The government even banned the printing of local newspapers and Kashmir woke up to “newspaper minus mornings since Saturday July 16, 2016.
