Seasoned Congressman and former Dogra prince of Jammu and Kashmir Dr Karan Singh Monday asked Delhi to hold dialogue with Hurriyat leadership of Kashmir.
While terming the pellet-blinding of Kashmiris “unfortunate”, Dr Singh said: “The Government should order a probe into disproportionate use of force on the protesters.”
The ex-Sadri-riyasat was speaking during the ongoing Monsoon session in Rajya Sabha—which held a special debate on Kashmir unrest today. Earlier, Singh’s Congress colleague and his party’s Rajya Sabha leader Ghulam Nabi Azad grilled Modi government over its Kashmir handling.
Expressing his anguish over the state of affairs in valley, Dr Singh said: “It’s terrible, newspapers are not coming out and curfew has remained in force for the past 10-days.”
