The Hurriyat leaders have extended their strike call to another two days in view of the tense situation prevailing in valley.

In a joint statement issued here, the Hurriyat leaders—Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik—while condemning the emerging state of affairs in Kashmir have called for strike in both parts of Kashmir on July 14. It has also asked people of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) to observe strike on July 14.

The Hurriyat leadership has also called for a complete shutdown on Friday and peaceful protests after Friday prayers. The statement was issued by Hurriyat Conference (g) on behalf of the united resistance leadership.

“The Imams are being requested to talk about the Right to Self Determination in their sermons,” the joint statement reads.

Welcoming the statement of UN chief’s statement on Kashmir, the leadership has called for the resolution of Kashmir as per the wishes of people.
