A day after it asked people to observe July 20 as “Black Day”, joint resistance camp today afternoon issued a new protest calendar up to Monday, July 25.

The statement signed by Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik and issued by Hurriyat Conference (g) declared Friday as ‘Global Kashmir Day’.

In a statement issued last evening, the resistance camp had asked Non-Resident Kashmiris (NRKs) to hold rallies and protest marches “wherever they live”.

The statement asked people to observe complete shutdown on Saturday, July 23. “People have been directed to play Azaadi songs through Masjid loudspeakers after Maghrib Namaz on the same day,” the statement said.

The Hurriyat statement said that the strike call will extend up to Monday, July 25, however, people will observe “a complete black out on Sunday evening”.

“People will hold a mass rally in Islamabad town to pay tributes to those killed by forces since July 09,” the statement said, “it would be a state-wide rally.”

At least 47 civilians have been killed by forces during mass uprising since July 09, 2016. The renewed mass level protests started a day after popular militant commander Burhan Wani was killed by forces in Kokernag area of South Kashmir on July 08 evening, third Eid-ul-Fitr.

The caged separatist leaders asked people to store food and essential stocks from 2 PM Thursday.
