Given the curfewed situation across Kashmir continuing on day nine after militant commander Burhan Wani was killed following which forces shot dead at least 42 civilians in last one week, Kashmir University has decided to postpone all the exams till July 23, 206.

Earlier in the day, J&K Government extended the summer vacation for the school and college going students up to July 24. The schools and colleges are scheduled to reopen now on July 25.

The students were enjoying summer vacations when J&K Police declared on July 08 evening that poster boy of “new age” militancy was killed along with his two associates in Kokernag area of South Kashmir. Mass protests followed and Kashmir was thrown out of gear with forces shooting dead unarmed protestors. Government clamped down on cellular internet and phone network before gagging media for at least four days.

Confirming the development, a PRO KU told Kashmir Life, “all exams till July 23 have been postponed while only class work will remain suspended during this period.”
