An elderly man from North Kashmir’s Lolab succumbed to his injuries at SMHS Srinagar.
Identified as Gh Mohammad Mir, he was hit by bullet in Khumriyal area of Lolab valley in Kupwara district. He was 50.
Forces had opened fire on unarmed protestors in Lolab area four days ago.
He was rushed to SMHS Srinagar where he succumbed this afternoon.
His body was driven to his native place from around 4 PM.
At least 47 civilians have been killed by government forces since July 09, 2016, a day after militant commander Burhan Wani died in Kokernag area along with his two associates on July 8.
People rose in mass protests and marched on streets against the establishment. Amid pro-freedom slogans, the protestors attacked military establishments at various places. Besides, a J&K Police man died when protestors pushed a moving police bunker in to a river near Sangam in Islamabad area.
