SRINAGAR: Kashmir’s top skier, Arif Khan, who made history by getting nominated for two winter Olympic events has finished 53rd with timing of 1:22.35 in the giant slalom discipline of Alpine Skiing. For getting into finals, he had to be in the first 30.

In the giant slalom, 89 skiers participated and only 54 managed to finish the race.

Now Khan will be participating in the second event slated for February 16.

Khan is a resident of Tangmarg village and is the son of a winter sports lover who also runs a ski shop.
