SRINAGAR: Kashmir’s Pultizer winning lady photographer, Sana Irshad Mattoo said she was barred from travelling abroad by the Government of India. She was stopped at Delhi International Airport.

“I was scheduled to travel from Delhi to Paris today for a book launch and photography exhibition as one of 10 award winners of the Serendipity Arles grant 2020. Despite procuring a French visa, I was stopped at the immigration desk at Delhi airport,” Sana said in a tweet. “I was not given any reason but told I would not be able to travel internationally.”

Her tweet has a photograph attached that has a red seal reading: “Cancelled without prejudice”.

Mattoo is a young lady photographer who is working for Reuters. She was one of the three photographers from the global wire service who got a joint Pulitzer for their coverage of Covid19 management in India.

Reports appearing in the media said she was kept aside at the immigration for three hours till she missed her flight.
