A contingent of twelve rugby players from Jammu and Kashmir has left for Lahore, Pakistan, to participate in an international sports festival.

The weeklong festival would commence from November 7 and would conclude on November 15. Rugby teams from Uzbekistan, New Zealand and Laos would also compete in the international tournament.

The President of Jammu and Kashmir Rugby Association (JKRA), Sarmad Hafeez told reporters that the officials hoped players from Kashmir would come back with impressive wins.

“We have a contingent who are going from India in different sports to participate in the sports festival which is being held in Pakistan,” said Hafeez.

The players and officials also hoped that such tournaments would strengthen bilateral relations between India and Pakistan.
