A Professor of Government Boys Degree College Islamabad and a student were injured during clashes between students and government forces on Monday.

Sources said that students assembled in college premises and started shouting anti-government slogans while demanding justice for Kathua rape victim.

Sources said when the students tried to come out of the college gate forces deployed there resorted to tear smoke shelling.

The protests intensified when students allege that some of them have been detained by the forces.

They added that forces fired dozens of tear smoke shells and sound shells inside the college premises to disperse the protesting students.

During the protests one student suffered an injury in his hand and was later shifted to district hospital Islamabad where his condition is said to be stable, reports said.

HOD of commerce Ghulam Hassan Thokar was also hit by tear smoke shell in his back however he was provided first aid in the college and his condition is said to be stable now.

When contacted concern college principal, he confirmed the incident and said that one professor was hit by a shell and has suffered a minor injury in his back.
