Srinagar

The students of Sopore Law College on Monday assembled at Main Chowk Sangrama and staged a protest against the Jammu based lawyers who tried to prevent the Crime Branch from filing charge sheet into the Kathua rape and murder case.

The protesting law students wearing black coats marched towards the main town from Sangrama chowk Sopore chanting slogans against the culprits and were demanding stern punishment against the lawyers who created hurdles in filing the charge sheet.

The students were also carrying placards to seek justice for the minor Bakarwal girl who was gang-raped and murdered in Rassana village of Kathua in January this year.

Reports said that the protesting law students demanded that all rape and murder cases of minors in India should be reopened while saying that there are at least 176 minor rape and murder cases presently pending in India.
