Senior National Conference leader and Member Legislative Assembly ( MLA) Kangan, Mian Altaf Ahmed has flayed the Bar Council of India ( BCI) for “ ignoring all the facts and proofs” in its report submitted to the Supreme Court in Kathua rape and murder case.
In a statement, Mian Altaf said the BCI “ has ignored all the facts and proof in its report and that is very disappointing and unacceptable.” He said the BCI had submitted a “ wrong report” to the Supreme Court, adding that “ there is no mention of the lawyer’s protest and the obstruction they created in the filing of the charge- sheet by the crime branch.”
Meanwhile, Mian Altaf has sought an inquiry by a judge of the Supreme Court to find out “ why the BCI submitted a wrong report and ignored all the facts and proofs in this regard.” He said, “ BCI has exceeded its mandate and brief.”
