Clashes erupted between protesting students and government forces on Monday in Lalchowk area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad district against the rape and murder of Kathua minor.
According to reports students from multiple institutions assembled at main town, Islamabad shouting anti-government slogans demanded justice for Kathua victim.
Reports said some students threw stones on the Government Forces deployed in the town, after which the troopers used force to disperse the protesting students.
During the incident, one student identified as Wamiq Aijaz was injured in the clashes and was shifted to district hospital; the protests were going was when this report was filed.
