Students of SP College and Cluster University Srinagar on Tuesday held a joint protest march in Lal Chowk Srinagar as a mark of solidarity with eight-year-old child Asifa, who was raped and murdered in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Scores of the students raising slogans in solidarity with Asifa demanded stern punishment for those involved in the heinous crime.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Anganwari Helpers and Workers association also held a protest march in Srinagar and demanded the justice for the Kathua victim.
Traders Association Maisuma Bazar and Traders Association Kukar Bazar Lal chowk also staged a protest march at Lal Chowk, as a mark of solidarity with the victim. The protesters raised slogans against Jammu bar Association for trying to shield the culprits.
Traders of Gojwara and adjoining areas in Srinagar also took out a rally and marched towards Rajouri Kadal.
Meanwhile, students of Government Polytechnic College Gogji Bagh, Srinagar also held a protest inside the college premises demanding punishment for the guilty.
In Baramulla, Students of women’s college Baramulla staged a protest demanding justice for Kathua victim. The protesters demanded stern punishment against those involved in the crime of rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua district of Jammu region.
Reports said that students after finishing their classes staged a protest shouting slogans in favour of Kathua victim Asifa.
