In a statement, KCCI said that the people of Kashmir have historically maintained communal harmony and have consistently welcomed pilgrims. The body noted that the Yatra holds spiritual value and reflects the longstanding connection between local residents and visiting devotees.

KCCI urged the government to prioritise adequate medical services, sanitation, logistics, and other basic facilities to ensure the safe conduct of the Yatra.

The Chamber also appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to facilitate smooth tourist movement during the pilgrimage period. It said uninterrupted access to tourist destinations would help in supporting tourism recovery, especially following the recent incident in Pahalgam.

KCCI further requested the administration to provide tourists visiting the Valley during the Yatra period with hassle-free access to all major destinations. It reaffirmed its support for maintaining an atmosphere of peace and cooperation during the Yatra.
