SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Education Initiative (KEI) has announced the opening of applications for three scholarship categories aimed at supporting students from the Kashmir province for the academic session 2024. The scholarships are available for Professional Courses, Postgraduate Courses, and Integrated Courses.
Eligible courses include a range of Professional Degrees such as BTech, MBBS, BDS, BvSc, and BSc in Agriculture and allied fields. For Postgraduate Courses, students can apply for MA, MSc, M.Com, and M.Tech programs. Additionally, Integrated 5-Year Courses like B.A, BSc, B Com, IMBA, and MSc are also covered under this initiative. Applicants must be enrolled in institutions such as the University of Kashmir, Central University of Kashmir, Cluster University Srinagar, NIT Srinagar, SKUAST-K, IUST, SKIMS, and all GMCs and GDCs of Jammu and Kashmir.
To be eligible, applicants must be residents of the Kashmir province and meet specific academic criteria. For Professional Courses, a minimum of 70 percent is required in both 10th and 12th exams. Postgraduate applicants must have scored at least 60 percent in their board or university examinations, while those applying for Integrated Courses must achieve a minimum of 70 percent in their 10th and 12th grades. Additionally, applicants must ensure that their total annual household income does not exceed INR 3,00,000 and that admission is obtained through the Open Merit category based on NEET, JEE, UET, or CUET results. Students who are receiving financial aid from other sources are not eligible for these scholarships.
