SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet is scheduled to meet this evening at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar to discuss the Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC) report on reservations, amid ongoing unrest among general category students.
The meeting will be chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at 6 PM.
Ministers Sakina Itoo, Javed Rana, and Satish Sharma—members of the CSC—will brief the Cabinet on their recommendations. The committee submitted its report on June 10 after six months of consultations with stakeholders.
The Cabinet is expected to decide on the future course of action regarding the report, including whether to implement the recommendations and the legal steps involved.
Sources added that the meeting will also review plans for tourism promotion and preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra, especially in view of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. (JKNS)
