SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have cracked Khanyar murder case in record time by arresting three accused persons involved in the commission of a crime.

Three accused arrested in Srinagar

A police spokesman in a statement said, “ On November 11, 2021, Police Station Khanyar received an information from reliable sources that some unknown persons have stabbed a person near Dastageer Sahib Khanyar who had been shifted to SMHS hospital and declared dead on arrival.”

“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 03/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khanyar and investigation was initiated,” said the spokesman.

“The deceased identified as Zayan Chasti son of Syed M Ashraf resident of Rainawari Srinagar,” he said.

“During the course of the investigation, taking advantage of technical and circumstantial evidences and some eyewitnesses led the investigation officers to know about the involvement of arrested accused in the commission of a crime. The accused have been identified as  Mohammad Zahid Bhat son of Fida Ahmad Bhat,  Faizan Fida Bhat son of Fida Ahmad Bhat both residents of Ellahi Bagh Soura and Wajid Altaf Kaullah son of Mohammad Altaf resident of Jabgri Pora Nowhatta Srinagar,” he added.

“All the three accused persons have been arrested and further investigation in the case is in progress,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
