A collection of Kashmiri poems titled ‘Khayal-e-Moomin’ authored by Late Habibullah Jan Badar was released Wednesday during a Mushaira organized by Idara-I-Fikru-Adab Jammu and Kashmir in this South Kashmir town.unnamed

Eminent poets, scholars and literary figures across the valley attended the function presided over by Ashiq Kashmiri, an eminent Kashmiri poet and President Idara-I-Fikru-Adab while as Ghulam Muhammad Mir, Chairman Falahi Aam Trust (FAT) and Ajaz Ghulam Muhammad  President Adbi Markaz Sangam also graced the occasion.

Speakers dwelt upon the life of the deceased poet.

“Jan Sahib though not formally educated had an inquisitive approach towards literature and life,” said Ashique Kashmiri while releasing the book.

He said that it was then Ameer-e-Jama’at, Saad-u-din Tarebali who had described his unpublished work as ‘Khayal-e-Moomin’ and hence his collection has been named the same.

Other speakers hailed Jan for his visionary outlook and simply life style.

Earlier, the poets recited their poetry during a Mushaira.
