SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that the Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg not only promote tourism but also help the government develop ski slopes and related infrastructure to establish Gulmarg as a world-class skiing destination.
Speaking to reporters in Gulmarg, the Chief Minister, expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of the 5th edition of the Khelo India Winter Games.
He said that following the recent snowfall, a survey was conducted to assess conditions before finalising the event. “I want well-developed slopes here to further boost employment opportunities,” he added.
The second phase of the 5th Khelo India Winter Games 2025 began in Gulmarg on March 9 under heightened security measures to ensure a smooth and successful event. (KNO)
