SRINAGAR
Awami Itehad Party president and MLA Langate Engineer Rashid Saturday afternoon led a protest over killing of a youth in Naidkhai Friday evening.
Holding banners and black flags he marched towards Srinagar’s Press enclave. Police swiftly came into action and protestors were taken into custody.
The protesters raised slogans, “Hisaab do hisaab do, khoon ka hisaab do.”
While talking to media Engineer Rashid castigated the state government over the killing and said, “They are mute spectators and now they are not allowing us to mourn the killing.”
The protestors later tried to march up to Ganta Ghar to hoist the black flag but were not allowed to do so.
