Srinagar
One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Khudpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday evening.
Reports said that a joint team of army and police cordoned off Khudpora area after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering off an encounter.
A senior police officer told the news agency that that one militant body has been so far recovered along with an AK-47 rifle.
The officer, however, said that searches are going on to find if there are more bodies.
