The government of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday appointed Khurshid Ahmad Ganai as an advisor to Governor N N Vohra.

As per Government Order No.1070-GAD of 2018 issued by the General Administration Department in this regard appointed  Khurshid A. Ganai, IAS (Retd.) as Advisor to the Governor with effect from the date he assumes charge.

“The Governor of Jammu and Kashmir is pleased to appoint Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, IAS (Retd.) as an advisor with effect from the date he assumes charge,” said the order.

The terms and conditions of his appointment shall be notified separately, the order said.

Notably, Ganai had on Thursday resigned from the post of State’s Chief Information Commissioner (CIC).

Presently, the Governor has two Advisors-BB Vyas, former Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir and K Vijay Kumar, former Special Security Advisor to the Ministry of Home Affairs, both of whom were appointed on June 21, two days after the State was brought under the Governor’s rule.
