Doda

The ghost of death continues to haunt the people travelling on the “killer roads” of Chenab valley with five more falling to the trap of death. All the five belonged to a single family.

On Monday late afternoon, four people died while one person sustained severe injuries when an Alto car they were travelling in met an accident at Doda Gath near Satsang Ghar Kashore.

An Alto car which was on its way from Doda to Mohalla area met with an accident after it fell into a gorge on the bank of river Chenab resulting into on spot death of four persons.

As soon as the accident took place, large number of people along with Police rushed to the spot immediately and started rescue operation. The deceased were identified as Bashir Ahmed Shah, 44, son of Feroz Din Shah, Fatima Begum 37 wife of Bashir Ahmed Shah, Zia Bashir 14 son of Bashir Ahmed Shah and Shaika Bano daughter of Bashir Ahmed Shah and Neelofar daughter of Bashir Ahmed Shah 19, all residents of Shiva Asthan, tehsil Mohalla  Doda.

Meanwhile, Member Legislative Assembly Doda Shakti Raj Parihar has expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the accident and assured all possible help to affected family.

He said late Bashir Ahmed Shah was a renowned educationist, social workers, a famous singer and a veteran Sarazi singer who was always at the beck and call of the society and his untimely death is a loss to whole society and assured all possible help to affected family.
