Terming the killing of a Bemina youth and the Woman in the Kud area of Udhampur district as “mysterious and doubtful”, Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani Tuesday demanded that this incident should be investigated by some independent agency.

Expressing sympathy and condolence with the affected families, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (g) chairperson Syed Ali Geelani said, “the police version in this regard is not trustworthy because this institution maintains a very bad track record in these matters.”

In a statement issued this evening, Geelani appealed human rights organizations to meet the family of the killed youth and listen to their stand in this regard.

Geelani said, “the Indian forces who are deployed in Jammu & Kashmir look with suspicious eyes towards every Kashmiri and harassing and killing them is considered as their national duty.”

“Till now thousands of Kashmiri youths have been killed in mysterious conditions and then to gain the medals and rewards, these innocent youths are linked to the armed struggle,” he added.
