DIG Northern Kashmir Nitish Kumar on Thursday blamed Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit for the killing of off-duty Border Security Force (BSF) man Mohammad Ramzan Parrey in Hajin area of Bandipora district.

Parrey was shot dead by suspected militants inside his home last night. Four of his family members were injured in the shooting.

Talking to reporters, Kumar said that LeT commander Mehmood Bhai carried out the killing of Parrey.

“He was accompanied by few more militants when the killing took place,” said Kumar.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah has termed the killing as “abominable”.

“What a terrible incident. This is abominable. Heartfelt condolences to the family of Rameez Parrey. Hope the injured recover soon,” Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging website Twitter.
